Campbellsville Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a report of a possible tornado touchdown with multiple structures involved in several areas of Taylor County. While en-route to the scene fire command verified a tornado was on ground and requested national weather service to issue a tornado warning.
*Upon arrival to the Woodhill Subdivision and Red Fern Area fire crews found multiple damaged structures, downed trees and down power lines was down. A primary and secondary search and rescue operation was initiated. We found no injuries, no fatalities and no missing persons.
*A natural gas leak was found at one residence and mitigated by fire crews. A piece of debris penetrated a natural gas meter on a residence with high levels of natural gas noted.
*Fire crews also assisted with incident management and logistical needs until regional emergency management officials arrived on the scene.
*Multiple other routine runs including fire alarms, ems assist and motor vehicle accidents.
